Another exciting Nashville Predators season is underway at Bridgestone Arena! Let’s get to know team captain Roman Josi. 

An All-Star on Home Ice 

In 2015-16, Josi played in his first NHL All-Star Game – held at Bridgestone Arena. He was the Western Conference’s fastest skater with an around-the-rink lap time of 13.527 during the skills competition. 

He went on to finish the season with 61 points (14 goals and 47 assists). 

O Captain! Our Captain! 

The Predators named Josi captain on Sept. 19, 2017. He had 49 points (12 goals and 37 assists) in 72 games during his first season as captain, then helped the Predators advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since entering the NHL in 1998 with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 22 postseason games. 

Coming off a Record-Setting Season 

Josi led defensemen in scoring in 2021-22 with an NHL career-high 96 points (23 goals, 73 assists) while getting his 400th NHL assist to help the Predators clinch a berth into the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the eighth straight season and 15th time in their history. He became the first defenseman with at least 90 points in one season since Ray Bourque (91) in 1993-94.
